Juan Carlos Montes de Oca

Currently is a legal adviser for title insurance claims in Fidelity National Title Group. He initiated his business relationship with them in 2003, then became the Group’s Costa Rican Direct Representative from 2009 to 2012. He is specialized in direct foreign investment, corporate and finance law, civil and commercial law, and also mergers and acquisitions. He is a member of the Costa Rican bar, the Bureau of Notary Public since 1989, and the French-Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce. He is an expert in Risk Mitigation and has extensive experience in litigation, and in creating Tax-Free Zones in Costa Rica. He received his International Law degree at the University of Sorbonne, Paris, France. Moreover, he has served as Consul and Minister Counselor for the Costa Rican Embassy in Paris, France; and as General Consul of Costa Rica in Canada. His experience includes the legal aspects of carbon-neutral projects and the development of carbon credit products.

Nury Vargas
Lawyer, Public Notary, Vice President, and former Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United Nations
Has a master's in Psychiatric and Sociology and her experience in the national and international fields in social and legal areas expands 45 years. Professor, researcher, and author of many sociology articles, part of the commission that created the first ‘Family Code’ 1974 and many other laws addressing child protection, family, and community. She held a position in public office and was elected to the Costa Rican Parliament from 1990 to 1994, then appointed Congress Women Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United Nations from 1999 to 2000. Currently, she is the President of our Children’s Foundation ¨A Friendly Hand for Children.¨ Her contribution has been priceless in many areas.

Arturo Soto

After 12 years in the Central Bank of Costa Rica, reaching the position of the Financial Director’s Assistant, he became the CFO Administrator of several companies including, Customs Agency and Freight Meta, Ferrara Corporation, and the Federal Bank. Additionally, at Coco Cola Femsa, he served as Export Manager of the Non-Carbonate Beverage Division and has a further 15 years as Independent Consultant at M&J Financial Consultants where he managed funds for companies throughout Central America as well as audits and accounting. With this extensive banking experience, he offers an important input to the Trust, ensuring the origin of the funds and the safe process of the wire transactions so that they comply with international banking laws and treaties regarding money laundering.

Wagner Chacon

Trial lawyer at Chacón y Asociados law firm, dealing with labor law cases and offering advice and consultations in civil law and care in cases of Criminal Law and Notary Law for two years. University professor of Private Business Law at the University of San Jose and Central University. He also served as the corporate attorney at Zeta Group International S.A., and legal adviser with Tropigas Company Costa Rica S.A. and National Gas Zeta S.A. As our litigator and corporate lawyer, he has experience not only as a professor at the university but also as a legal adviser of national corporations and their relations to the state and public contracts.

Frank Araya

As a Judge primarily in Civil Law, but also in Family, Commercial and Criminal Law, he was in charge for 30 years of over 3,000 files per year. After this career and his accumulation of great practical experience, he retired in 2008 as an Appeals Judge at the Tribunal Superior Civil. With his experience in litigation, he now offers legal consultation to law firms.
